Cancelling Appointments

As you may be aware, one of the greatest contributory factors to lack of appointments is caused by patients not cancelling any appointments they no longer need (this is referred to as a "Did Not Attend" or "DNA").

Last year, over 2,000 appointments were DNAs, representing approximately 8 appointments a day that we could not offer to other patients - you can see how this significantly contributes to a shortfall in the number of appointments on a daily basis.

Of course, many patients do contact us to cancel their appointments but some have found it difficult to get through on the telephone to request the cancellation. Therefore, we have introduced a dedicated facility for patients that wish to cancel an appointment. We have set up a mobile telephone in each surgery which is solely for the use of patients wishing to cancel their appointments.

Phone, or text, the appropriate number below, providing your name, date of birth and your appointment date and time that you wish to cancel:

Church Road Surgery: 07837 218004

Tile Cross Surgery:     07837 218129

Please be aware that the phone will not be answered, please leave a voicemail as directed. Please do not leave a message for anything other than cancelling appointments

Extended Opening Hours

From Monday, 4th April 2011 both Surgeries will be open from 7:30am on Monday and Tuesday mornings. This additional half hour of opening is only for patients that have prebooked appointments; Reception will not be open for normal business until 8:00am.

The Wednesday evenings (6:30 - 8:00pm) that we used to provide will be withdrawn at the same time.
